First Fridays is an initiative where we invite creatives from different spectrums over to our studio to share their projects, collaborations, and more. In September of 2019, we invited Alecia Neo, the co-founder of BRACK, and Ernest Goh, the founder of AYER AYER to share their collaborative project on sustainability and environmentalism, followed by a film screening of the 2015 documentary Troublemakers: The Story of Land Art.
The duo brought over samples of their Shore Debris Table collected from beaches to raise awareness about trash and plastic pollution. The project invites participants to sieve out the tiny micro-plastic fragments from the debris and remind us about its devastating effects on the oceanic environment and the fact that it exists in our food and enters our bodies.
